Blessing

 This morning

I grumbled

About doing

Farm chores

Yet the more

I did them

My muscles

Started to loosen

And my heart

Began to soften

Because even

As I felt discomfort

I began to

Feel gratitude

That I

Could still

Complete them

After a shower

Lunch

And sitting

On a comfy couch

My soul

Is rejoicing

That my sour mood

Didn’t deter

The blessing

I didn’t know

I needed

  2. That's wonderful that you did farm chores today. I used to work on a vegetable farm when I was in junior high - picking, gathering, watering. It was much work, but a summer with great memories. Now, you can rest.

  7. A beautiful way with words to express your thoughts on having to do chores when it didn't sound appealing and having the ability to do the chores which changed your attitude. Just lovely!

  12. Love it. We can often do more than we originally think we can if we rely on the Lord.

  16. Just the other day, while out gardening, I gave thanks for being able to "garden" as it is very easy to take it for granted. I do try to also find the "joy" in every day, and I'll admit, some days it is very difficult.
