I don’t know how many of you know I’ve been on a low to no processed food diet for two weeks. I mainly drink water or hot lemon water. I’ve also been exercising for an hour and thirty minutes daily. Stretching and cardio. This has not been easy, but very effective. The weight loss is slow, but it is there. My sleep is much improved. I just wish anxiety would cease, but one step at a time.
Did I want to do this? No, but it was necessary. My body can’t hold as much weight. I also have to wear braces that are heavy enough already. I need endurance and stamina to keep going which I’ve not had in awhile. The disabled body is not as sturdy as it once was. It is not forgiving either.
I’ve felt sluggish, tired, cranky, achy and every other ailment one can think of at the moment. I was in denial. Some days I still am. I also realized I don’t need to be skinny, but I need to be fit. I need to feel good in the body I was given. I’ve asked God for another one, but I’ve been flatly denied.
It also helps that I have a cheering section rooting me on. When you have others invested in your progress it makes a difference. Or maybe I got tired of fighting something I wasn’t going to win. It takes a long time to exit denial and go forward in acceptance.
I don’t know why I’m telling you this other than subconsciously I want a bigger cheering section, and maybe sharing some healthy recipes with me.
Love yourself and one another
It's hard to lose weight. Lots of fresh fruit and veggies is a good thing. There are so many ways to fix delicious veggies. You can do this. ♥
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I plan to start working on the no processed foods. I think it's easier with summer coming, to have fresh fruits and veggies. I'll be cheering you on!
ReplyDeleteI've been on mainly a low to no processed food diet for nearly a year now and while I can't say I always love it since it does require a lot more work, planning, and prep work, I do feel so much better when I eat right. One thing that helped me when I was trying to get fit was a saying I saw somewhere that reminded me that I didn't put all that weight on at once and it wasn't going to all come off at once either-- in this case slow and steady wins the race!
ReplyDeleteHang in there, you can do this.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you are on the road to a healthy lifestyle. It's not easy for sure, but I know you can do it. It's better for all of us, so your post is inspirational.

It's never easy but I know you will feel better when you achieve your goal. Take care x
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you're learning what works for you. Hang in there!
ReplyDelete,,,feeling better is all it's about!
ReplyDeleteVeggies and healthy meals will help you achieve your goals.
ReplyDeleteYes when we eat real food and not processed it is so much healthier. You have made a good start, keep at it and know we are all cheering you on.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
All the best Jan
Good for you! I know you can do this, with God helping you. I'm not sure what that diet looks like exactly. I'm trying to think of what I would have to give up to do that, and I'm afraid it would be a lot more than I realized. But I am sure it would be a much healthier lifestyle and I can imagine it would be so good for you and for all of us to do that. May God give you the strength you need to keep pressing on toward the mark. He will lead your way, just follow Him. And yes, we will gladly cheer you on!
ReplyDeleteYou have many rooting for you. At 80+ I have my share of health problems. Evey day that I wake and my feet hit the floor I am thankful for that day. I firmly believe that the lord made this day and I am glad for. I am sending blessings and many hugs your way.
ReplyDeleteI asked God for another one but I was flatly denied. LOL I feel you. These skin sacks we are born into can be very challenging. But WOW that exercise routine is VERY impressive. Keep it up. It can take a long time to see results but you will see them.
ReplyDeleteAnd I hope you feel better sooner than later.

Huge respect for pushing through even when it’s hard. Love what you said about not needing to be skinny but just wanting to feel good in your body.
ReplyDeleteI’m totally in your cheering section now!
And yes to swapping healthy recipes! 💪💛
Go for it girl! You are doing great! Woohoo!
ReplyDeleteGlad to read, God Bless. Stay well.
ReplyDeleteI am rooting for you. Just do one day at a time!
ReplyDeleteWhat a battle Regine - and I will cheer you on, one goal at a time! No matter how long it takes.
ReplyDeleteI don't eat much in the way of processed food - I am not fond of it at all, and would rather eat fruit and vegetables than chips and bread etc. My downfall is cheese...
Blessings
Maxine
I am praying for you, Regine. God bless.
ReplyDeleteKeep Going! Stay strong!
ReplyDeleteYour words cut my like a knife because I feel you on getting healthy. I have recently decided to change what I eat and it's hard! I'm am here cheering you on my friend. Thank you for sharing your journey. It's giving me the courage to keep going. Have a blessed Easter week my friend!
ReplyDeleteI hear you!! I need to lose weight too, and it's much harder with my age, even with eating a good diet and exercise it's very hard to lose weight. I've felt the same way with needing a cheering squad. So many people are taking those "shots" and losing weight quickly, and I get so frustrated because it's taking so long to happen by doing it the physical way (healthy diet, exercise, daily walks after dinner, floor stretches, etc.). I know it will be worth it in the end (good habits, stronger self), but it is mentally difficult when you feel you have no support system. Cheers to a good day and every day after! You got this!
ReplyDeleteIt's always hard to lose weight and get back into condition. I'm not bad with exercise, but food is a hard one for me because I like to eat. Congrats, and I hope you keep with it. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteAmazing job, darling! Inspiring!
ReplyDeleteYou are loved, too :)

Congrats, it takes a lot to keep working toward getting better. We went on a health kick a year ago when hubby was diagnosed with diabetes. I have in turn gotten healthier too, eating better and getting more exercise, it takes a lot of work to keep it all up and not give up on those days your not feeling it. But in the long run it sure does help, like you said not everything is perfect, God has told us that will be our life, but we can have a good one and better one than doing nothing. Keep up the good work. I really don't have recipes, I just know I was counting calories before and was stuck on my weight loss, going on this low carb diet with hubby has had me starting to lose weight again, but I know everybody's bodies are different. Take care !
ReplyDeleteGood 👍 job. It is not easy but every step and effort helps. God bless 🙌 🙏 you.
ReplyDeleteProcessed food is the worst! Well done, keep up the good work :-D
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you because this is the best gift you can give yourself! You've dealt with much harder things so trust in yourself that you've got this! Cheering you on dear friend! Just a bit of advice from personal experience, learn to cheer yourself on because life is better when you're your own biggest cheerleader. And if you like fried rice, learn how to make it. It's very simple and filling and if you make it yourself, it's quite healthy since it doesn't require much oil at all. I like mine with tofu, chicken and lots of vegetables (you can use frozen!)
ReplyDeleteSo very proud of your determination and resolve, Regine. Know I'll be cheering you on and praying for you!
