On this Good Friday, my heart comes upon this song, Amazing Love by Chris Tomlin.
Im forgiven because you were forsakes
I'm accepted you were condemned
I'm alive and well, Your Spirit is within me because you died and rose again
Amazing love,
How can it be
That you my KING should die for me?
Amazing love,
I know it's true
It's my joy to Honor You
In all I do, I honor You
Happy Good Friday, Everyone!
God Bless!

Enjoying some family time this weekend. I hope you can too! I am amazed at GOD'S profound love for us when he let His Son die for us, the sin of the world. Hoping this weekend will be one of renewal in mind, body and soul! God Bless you all!

Confession
Good morning, friends!
Writing truth can be painful, almost brutal. I saw a quote on Facebook yesterday that got me thinking. Toni Morrison has never spoken any truer words. Definitions belong to the definers, not the defined. I have let so many people or society put definitions on me that I have started to believe them. Handicapped and disabled are not my definitions. Records are records, they are meant to be broken, doesn't mean we may want them too; the same can be said for definitions. I may not run a sub 4 minute mile, but it's just a number. What we do versus who we are. Am I a writer or a person who simply writes? I'll let you answer that.

Small things
I was listening to Joel Osteen this morning, and the sermon wason being obedient in the small things. The thought that God wants me to follow instructions in everything, before He gives us a big job gave me time to reflect. He wants me to trust Him, so He can trust me. There is a hymn about trust and obedience that is in my head as I type this right now. God makes no mistakes, period!

Being still
Some days you just need to turn off your thinker(your brain) and enjoy the day for what it is! I need to commune with God. I need to be still. That is my simple prayer.
Romans 15:13 is the Scripture in my devotion today. Stopping to smell the roses.

one with oneself
Watching the new pope coming on the balcony tonight in St. Peter's brought back wonderful memories of my journey to Italy some years ago. There is no place like it on Earth. When Cardinal Bergoglio was announced as the new pope, my heart was full. I am not Catholic. There was something about choosing the name Francis that struck me. Even before my conversion to Christianity, the prayer of St. Francis of Asissi was one of my favorites. One of my favorite places in Italy was Assisi. It was a place that gave me hope, solace, and a place where I sought Him. Jesus tells he came not to be served, but to serve in Matthew 20:28. My wish is not to to merely proselytize but to live it out. I fail more times than I can count. He wants me to try. He doesn't expect perfection just effort. One month from today, I will celebrate ten years as a believer. Where does the time go? In ten years, what have I learned. The less I know for the most part is directly correlated to my level of happiness. That being dependent on others for so much makes my dependence on Him so much greater. The moment I lose sight of Him is the moment I lose sight of what's really important. This is all my opinion. I hope whatever I write helps not hurts. Jesus helps me to see the glass-half full, and see life as something to be enjoyed not despised. I am a work in progress, not there yet, not hopeless either.
Ciao, bella

Life is funny
It is often when we stop trying to find ourselves that we do find ourselves. I've been obsessed with records, win and losses...it's all great, but I am realizing I'm focusing on things that don't matter. We can break records, our name can be in a book, but at the end of the day the adulation may fade. We don't live forever. The saying goes no one makes it out alive. Will my name be remembered for what I won or who I was. Writing about that memory yesterday was a cathartic experience, one I desperately needed. Your subsequent comments I am treasuring. To hear you say you love my blog is the biggest compliment. I will not analyze it any further, I will just say thank you. God used a Dutch woman to reach me, and celebrate my accomplishment. I don't own any Grand Slam titles, undefeated seasons or Academy Awards, but for today, I own a voice I am learning to acknowledge. I am a master of self-deprecation. I am no Shakespeare, I am simply REGINE. For today, that will have to do.
I am enough. I have to believe it.
Any topics you want me to talk about?
Thinking about making this a weekly segment.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

Memory
A blog friend asked me what a favorite childhood memory of mine was, and it's this. In elementary school, every Thursday, I would be shuttled to another school almost 40 miles from the one I attended to get occupational and physical therapy. I would go down to the office, sit there until I saw that big yellow school bus would pick me up. On that ride, I would wonder what others were doing while I was gone. On the ride over, I would memorize license plates, pick out my pretty future cars(that I am not able to drive.) Glad I didn't know that then. I would remember passing Velda Farms. Whenever I saw it, I smiled. When I would get to Biscayne Gardens, I would see Celia for OT and Trey for PT. I would start with Celia. I would always try to fit a square peg into a round hole. I have to say I liked PT more because there was a hammock like contraption suspended from the ceiling and I would twirl myself around and around after walking my hands out back and forth. I could only do this if I followed all the rules and worked hard. I hated Thursdays because I didn't want to be "special" in that way. It's a good memory in that I have been blessed with opportunity, most people won't experience.
These days I long to return to "Thursdays", and when being "special" I realize was one of the greatest blessings of my life.
Today I realize that I may be the most normal human being some may ever see. And while I'm wishing to be someone else, their wishing to be me.
Have a great day!

This weekend I realized that all I need to learn, I am relearning from an infant. The pure joy, the innocence, no worries attitude. Jesus wated all the little ones to come to Him and for us as adults not to hinder them. I love my nephews!

I have enjoyed my day today! Nothing like family, pets and sunshine, itself a great elixir. A commenter yesterday had some requests for what I should post or would like to see. This would be like a favorite memory, etc.
Any suggestions, dear readers and friends?

Sunday sermon
Church today has brought me some thought and some happiness. Isaiah 45:5 and Deuteronomy 32:4 are some verses I will have to commit to memory. Isaiah 45:5 says "I am the Lord, and there is no other;
apart from me there is no God." and Deuteronomy 32:4 says "He is the Rock, his works are perfect,
and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just he is." The pastor asked one question that I mustn't forget, this as if were God were asking me. Would I trust God if God were to trust me with all the circumstances and struggles of my life even if I couldn't ask Him why. Such a loaded question. Which has got me thinking. That means I would trust God, to trust me with my CP, and never ask again why. I don't know if I could, but if I were to earnestly try, not just say try, I may could. Would CP be the thorn in my side for the rest of my days so that it may bring me Him glory. God didn't make me an athlete to chase records, or a doctor to save lives in the traditional sense, because I couldn't bring Him glory, but my words can with CP being that thorn that won't leave me.
The pastor said God could if I put my circumstance, take away my CP, but as much as I may plead, He can, but doesn't want to, amazing isn't it?
Never thought of it like that!

God, Himself works in mysterious ways. A few days ago, a commenter on the blog said something about a particular verse, Psalm 73:26, and how she liked it. It is my Bible verse for today in my devotional.
