Forgiveness

Why is it so hard to forgive?  I know I must. I know it's in my best interest. I know it benefits me. I know if someone's hurt me, it's more a reflection of their character, not mine. With all these good things, you'd think I could forgive or want to. I'm all too human. Help me Lord to forgive those who've wronged me years ago or yesterday. Pruning:  painful and prickly, especially for stubborn people like me.

    Some things are never forgotten, even if you forgive. Some things can't be forgiven. It's the way of things. It doesn't make you a bad person.

    Forgiveness is more for us than for those who have wronged us. Even though we might never forget, we must TRY to forgive. Yes, it can be very hard.

    A long time ago I found not forgiving someone gave them rent free space in my brain. Forgiving might not have had any impact on them but it certainly did on me.

    Oh Regine, you wouldn't believe how many times I've had to forgive the wrong doings of others. But we can only have peace when we do. And we have to remember that if we want our Father to forgive us, we must forgive others. : ) You can do it, you're a strong one and goodness flows from you. I know it's difficult, but let's try to forgive together. : )

    I say forgive and forget. Who wants to be controlled by painful memories? You can forgive and still be cautious/protect yourself from not being hurt in the same way again.
