Confession

When God convicts you, you must respond.  I realized I am burdened with jealousy and envy.  Whether it be not being able to wear a pair of heels, drive a car, or attain success the world deems newsworthy.  I am ashamed to admit this.  But I hope the truth will set me free.  I have to remember that God doesn't see as the world sees.  My focus should be on completing the task He has given me that only I can complete.

Happy Memorial Day

I have been reading profiles of fallen soldiers on CNN.com, 100 soldiers in 100 hours, and I am humbled by their dedication and amazed and how young they were.  I watched Huckabee the other day, and this statement made me think.  "We deify sports stars and actors like heroes, but these soldiers are our heroes". What a thought!  I wish you all a great day!  Enjoy life, for there is only one.
And that last statement I need to hold tight too.
My name may never be renowned for greatness, but that will have to be ok.

Something to ponder

Good evening!  Hope you've had a good Sunday!  I have.  I didn't, so I can't spend or give away almost 600 million.  My mom and I were talking and as much as I wish 600 million couldn't make me   whole physically, emotionally or any way.  I guess we just want to be remembered or make a difference for today is not guaranteed.  I guess that's why we applaud records, wins and losses with greatness.  My body doesn't afford me greatness in the traditional sense.  No Grand Slams, no home runs, no nothing.  I have to accept that God didn't make to chase records, break them or otherwise.  My greatness may lie in the fact in just choosing to live as best as I know how, whatever that may be.

What would you do?

If money were no object for you?  I ask because of the big Powerball jackpot.  475 million dollars!  Enough to feed a small nation.  Of course I would traverse Europe, save some and give some away.  But would money change me?  Would I become like those in 1 Timothy 6:10- For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.  Would my eagerness for money have me wander from the faith with all kinds of griefs as the verse continues to say.

Things you can't explain

Do you have days where you can't explain GOD'S mysterious ways, but in your heart know it's Him? Had that happen today while volunteering and in that moment I couldn't process, but now I can.
And I am in awe how four quarters can give you a lesson in joy, hope, contentment and on the road to acceptance and understanding.

Want vs.Need

Lately I have done quite a bit of thinking.  Not a good idea, I know!  While I believe wholeheartedly in Jesus doesn't mean I don't have seasons of questions, seasons of doubts.  I have questions, but I dare not ask.  The answer may be one I am not prepared to hear.  It's a battle of the flesh versus the spirit.  It always comes back to two things I've always struggled with at some point.  Acceptance and Surrender.  Those two words sting to even type.  What I need versus what I want.  And I want a lot of things.  God gives us what we need versus what we want.  It's a tough pill to swallow, and to know God knows what I want before I do.  It's like wanting the pretty heel versus the need of the plain Mary  Jane.  I know shoes what a petty analogy, but it's the one that came to mind.
