Hi, Rue and thank you for visiting my blog! One thing I think helps us when we struggle to do what is right, is to think if what we are doing is for God's glory or for our own indulgence. "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God." 1 Corinthians 10:31 Have a blessed weekend and I'll be praying for you! :)
For Lent I gave up social media, and it was such a rewarding experience - to spend more time away from my phone and just be with God, or experiencing peace with a good book or nature. I am working to continue using social media less and less, as it really detracts attention away from what is important. Maybe try eliminating one social media account for a week to see your attention and focus shift from your phone back to Him?
Regine, I would try setting an alarm on your phone to remind you to spend time with the Lord. Maybe download the Thru the Bible with J.Vernon McGee app on your phone which I from time to time have mentioned on my blog. I hope this helps.
One of my biggest struggles is eating right as well. I do have discipline with my Bible reading but I do lack fervor at times. It's something we should all pray for.
I find that happens to me in waves too, I feel like I don't spend the time I should with him in prayer and reading my bible. I try to do smaller prayers throughout the day.
Yes, I did say a prayer for you. Left a message here earlier, but I guess it didn't go through. : ( I hope you are feeling better since you wrote this.
Please eat right so important
ReplyDeleteRue, you took the words right out of my mouth! Sending prayers your way.

ReplyDeleteRemember that balance is key and don't forget to take care of yourself. I find that having routines helps me with discipline. You can do it <3

Amen! We need to stay focused on God first, and everything will fall in line.

ReplyDeleteI struggle, too, Regine! Eating right and I should think of God way more than I do. It's a struggle not to be selfish.
