Saying Goodbye to the twenties

Tomorrow I start a new decade!  The 30's!  All I can hope for is continued good health and GOD'S amazing Grace!  Any advice?  Words of wisdom?

Worry wort

On this Thursday in July in this scorching Carolina heat, I am ready to say that I am the world's worst worrier or so it seems.  It it can be worried about, I will do it.  God tells me in Philippians to 'be anxious for nothing'. I seem to do the opposite of this daily!  I am not proud of this, frankly it irritates me.  It seems like I don't truly believe He can take my worry, my pain, my struggle away.  I don't doubt His ability, I just want a control I can't have.  I feel so ashamed to admit this, this sinful blemish of mine.
My faith needs exercising.  ASAP!

Today is a great day!  It is a day The Lord hath made; I will rejoice and be glad in it.  A friend told me you have to claim the good in your life.  Don't question it, just claim as a gift from God.  So today I will claim my victories no matter how small they may be.  They are not small to me.  She told me I was a Debbie Downer on myself while I praised the achievements of the world.  I didn't get upset, because she said it from a place of love, and because I know it's true.  I kept trying to say:  but this, but that...that word is one of doubt.  For today, I just want to treat myself as well as I treat the world

Introspection

The truth will set you free, that's the way the saying goes.  I was speaking with a friend today.  We spoke about birthdays.  With 30 coming up, it got me thinking of how blessed I am.  I never thought 30 for me could look so good.  Let's just I've beat some odds I wouldn't ascribe for anyone.  To achieve what I have, it leaves me speechless.  There are no words that do it justice.  And to have dreams you thought could only remain dreams, but now become reality boggles my mind.  I just want CP to be an affliction I have, not an affliction that defines me.

Being still

Being still is not easy.  I have not been this sick in awhile.  In my necessity to be still, God is working.  I have received calls and postcards that make me smile.  For the first time, I am not blaming myself for getting sick.  I am still weak, but starting to feel better!  Thank The Lord!

Is 30 just a number?

One month from today I turn the big 3-0!  I don't know what to think, what to feel.  I should be thankful.  I couldn't have imagined being this blessed.  Making it to 30 is an accomplishment.  I have to thank my biggest champion, my Mom.  God has given me more than I could have ever dreamed.  My surgery scars and device implantation just let my body tell a story.  You may not see the device because I keep it hidden.  Maybe I shouldn't.  I don't know.  Baclofen pumps aren't sexy, merely effective.  Maybe effective could become sexy one day?  What has age taught you about yourself and the life you lead?
