High above
The clouds
Window seat
Looking outward
At the night sky
Lit up
By lightning below
Feeling so
In awe
At seeing
God work
Without
Moving a muscle
High above
The clouds
Window seat
Looking outward
At the night sky
Lit up
By lightning below
Feeling so
In awe
At seeing
God work
Without
Moving a muscle
Morning glories
Of sweet smelling
Jasmine and honeysuckle
Waft through
My nostrils
Making my day
Even more amazing
Because I let
Nature’s beauty
And goodness
Be my guide
To a happier
Healthy
Whole
Salty shores
Shifting sand
Azure waves
Wind blowing
Birds a pecking
And an overcast sky
Greet my eye
This morning
You control
Your creation
With a steadfast
Firmness
That gives
This humble human
Peace and clarity
Thank you
For never deviating
From Your character
Even as mine
Wavers more
Than I’m willing
To admit
What are you reading?
What’s in your cart?
What are you drinking?
What are you eating?
What is making you smile?
Rereading old favorites
Books
Coffee
Cereal
You all
Your turn
Lord
Guide me
Give me
Direction
And peace
To deal
With life
As it is
Not pretend
It’s something
Else entirely
Give me hope
And a future
And never let
Me forget
Your goodness
As I seek
Your reply
May the joy
You provide
Be enough
Always enough
For this impatient
And seeking soul
Some notes from time off
As you age you will no longer apologize for who you are
Your peace is paramount
You will realize you control nothing
You will find the best and worst of humanity in the same day
You will still question your worth when it gets shattered. It will get shattered. People may mean well, but execution is lacking.
I will have to remind myself that Lord they know what they do mentality
Poor in net worth, Rich in spirit. Reconciling this dichotomy now.
Happy Fourth of July to all Americans. Just a little note to let you know you are all loved by me. I’m appreciative of your love and support. Stay safe and cool. If your international, where are you checking in from my friends?

Some days
I just have
To remember
That not
Having answers
Could be
The biggest blessing
I’m having
To say
I don’t know
And leave
It there
Life may not
Be fair
But its
Goodness
Needs to be found
In perfectly fried chicken
Or a beautiful butterfly
Who spreads
Its wings
No matter
The circumstance
Inundate my spirit
With grace and mercy
As I learn
To wait
With joy
And expectancy
Of a peace
I’ve not
Felt yet
