Being glad in it

Rejoice, I say rejoice!  This year sometimes has felt like the last thing I want to do, but I realize that sometimes God works in ways we couldn't have imagined.  Learning to just say thank you without asking why is one of the hardest things to accept.  Learning is the key to life!

Why does learning or the truth hurt?

Sometimes I don't know why God does the things He does.  I have learned more about pain, waiting, testing...so much...Have I questioned?  Yes, but after awhile that gets painful as well.  The truth is one of those things that we(I) think we (I) want.  Sometimes when you get it, you may realize it's not really what you wanted.  The truth brings forth two things...this is painful for me to write.  An uncomfortable reality.  Comfort- central to where or what we or I may want.  And next reality. Real, not dreamt up in some thought of wishful thinking.  This may hurt more...what we need is not what exactly we want.

Grateful to have friends and family to send Christmas cards to
Being able to buy some frivolous items, not just basic necessities
Friends who let me vent
Family who value my worth
A God that gives the best advice and Direction

What is your Christmas wish

I thank God for for granting me the ability to empathize.  Joanna Goddard had on her blog, A Cup of Jo, yesterday a post about just this very thing.  It was a short where Brene Brown discusses empathy versus sympathy.  My struggles this year have me more willing to let God work through me in this way and many others.  I hope that I don't forget to empathize.  God is GOOD!

Holiday fun

I know Christmas is not about the gifts, but I am having too much fun buying or stocking stuffers and then adding my own personal touches.  I have bought candles then wrapped them with festive pretty ribbon.  Michael's is too much fun!

There are times in life when what God does to prove Himself to us leaves us full of happy tears and beyond speechless.  I can't jinx God.  Jinxing isn't in His vocabulary, and it shouldn't be in ours.  What God does to call His children when we don't want to be called.

Freeing myself

As I sip on my sugared coffee this morning, I am reflecting on Zephaniah 3:17, and trying to let the words not simply be read, but taken in like I take in food and water, or the coffee I have right now.  " The Lord God is with you."  I know He is even if I don't feel Him with me.  The Mighty Warrior who Saves.  He will take great delight in you; I wonder sometimes.  In His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing."  In my doubt, I have to believe and trust in His Words of Truth, despite my own insecurities and perceived unworthiness.

I'm about to make a cup of coffee, marvel at the lights of the Christmas tree, and listen to the music in the background.  I am a Nervous Nellie, and I know it.  I know what I need to do, and yet I resist it like the plague.  Jesus needs to be praised, before the tics of my anxiety.  I want to enjoy living, not despise or deny its existence.  I have come too far to look back now.  What makes you revel in the moment?

Christmas wish

What are you dreaming of this Christmas?  Health and happiness?  Longing for a special someone?  An inner joy that only Our Savior can bring?

December days

What gives you happiness these days, gives you joy?  I can say that just smiling these days is giving me joy.  Faking it until I make it.  One place that brings about a true smile is being in church.  There is nothing greater than that joy.  Being in a place where I feel my presence is truly valued, whether that be from the human ones or from the Godly One is a welcome one.  It's where my heart can be true, yet broken.  Last night, I felt humbled, yet unchained from the sin and despair that has encapsulated me.  I want to live life.  I don't want to be in fear of life.
