This poem reminds me of the play I saw, "Into the Woods," a musical (it's a film too, if you've not seen it). All the people go "into the woods" to help solve a problem and havoc erupts. But in the end to calm the havoc, kill the giant, they must work together, be in community. And as they experience it, they see things differently than before -- a marriage is strengthened, Little Red learns to beware and take care; Cinderella realizes that she has choices. Every time I've fallen down I've found strength in the support of others and learned something valuable I never saw before in the end. Your poem is really thought-provoking to me today.
