Yesterday my niece was over, and it never ceases to amazes me the wisdom of children. Playing tic tac toe, she says “you can’t keep doing the same thing if you want to win”. I didn’t even realize it. Her words stuck with me. How often in life do I do the same things just to not lose. At six and a half, my niece gave me advice I will keep forever. I want to remember that you can be taught by anyone at anytime. Who knew a rainy summer Sunday is when I would receive such gifts. Thank you Lord for the children who remind me of life lessons we adults seem to forget.
What have children taught you?
It reminds of Jesus saying we have to be like children to enter the kingdom. I think children remind me of staying in the moment.

'out of the mouths of babes' - truth or wisdom comes from the words of children who are honest and innocent.
ReplyDeleteExactly what I was going to say!
DeleteIt's so easy when you just "do" it, no real thinking involved. Then you start with something new and WOW! We are alive! Something happens to us and it's wonderful. Children see the simplicity we have forgotten about.
ReplyDeleteThe wisdom of children! :D
ReplyDeleteKids are very smart and they see the world in innocence. We let our past creep in and change that innocence.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and week, Regine. ♥
Great lesson you learned from your niece :) My grandson at about 6.5 years old has taught me I'm not as young as I used to be (he is very active, lol).

ReplyDeleteYes, you are quite right. My son who is retarded teaches me to be patient. My mother asked me years ago some day:" You've changed! You are so patient. How come?"
ReplyDeleteI told her: "Because of your grandson".
Smart niece!

ReplyDeleteAs a retired teacher (33yrs) I think I learnt as much from them as they did from me. As a teacher you must not always think you know all the answers or you miss out on all the fun they have to offer. Miss them all xXx
ReplyDeleteSo much wisdom, that's wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhat insight from one so young- we can learn so much. If anything of late, my grandies have taught me patience...
