Claim

I’ve finally come to the realization that with a disability I will have to hide my pride. Go to every doctor’s appointment, ask for help and realize that no question is ever stupid. My life requires continual maintenance. I just need to praise Him for having access. I’m tired of the fear. I’m having to lay every anxiety to the side. I’m worthy. I’ve fought for everything and everyone. I need to fight for me. The world tells me I don’t deserve it, but He says I do. God, I claim good health, and abundant joy. I claim it. I will prosper and not fail. Claim it too.

  4. I am very glad to read this. Perhaps instead of shame you can shift your focus to pride in all you accomplish despite your disability?

  8. It is such an aggravation to have a health problem that never leaves. But I only have to go to the doctor and look around the waiting room and see how blessed I am.

  11. Questions aren't ever dumb. You might find it helpful to write a note and have it in hand when you go to your appointments. It helps if you're nervous and also keeps you from forgetting what you wanted to ask. Plus, docs like to zip in and out. They say a few words and often leave before you have a chance. You do deserve to ask questions and fight for yourself. With the note in hand, that they will see; they'll know you mean business.

  25. Every human being deserves to take care of themselves as best as they can. And use all that is available. I truly believe God has given us all good things with His love and blessing, this includes medical knowledge. You are working hard to take care of yourself, and that is good.
