What’s on my heart today?
Anxiety rolls in like a wave. I’m remembering Martha’s Vineyard. The boat rocked, the waves crested and crescendoed, and I was stronger for it. I’m thinking God is rocking my boat so I can focus. I’m distracted and in the what ifs. I must be present in the present. So simple yet so true. What are you learning today?
To me the boat is always rocking and we must steady ourselves lest we fall overboard.
ReplyDeleteYou're reminding me of that story of Jesus in the boat during the storm. Everyone is terrified and He whispers, 'peace, be still' ...
ReplyDelete...God didn't mean for me to be in boats.
ReplyDeleteI've listen very carefully this:

ReplyDeleteI'm just home from a long ship voyage, so I get this very well. And we were incredibly lucky going across the Straits of Denmark from Iceland to Greenland where it was exceptionally calm!

Ah, the Vineyard. I'm learning how much I love not being in the car today.
ReplyDeleteWe must life in present.
ReplyDelete"So simple yet so true." - yes, it's a very wise sentence.
ReplyDeleteI will be happy to stay on your blog for longer time. :)
I'm learning that it's okay to do what's right for me even if other people want to ridicule me for it so I'm continuing to wear a mask because I don't want to catch Covid.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can ride out that wave.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of God as our rocking boat. :)
ReplyDeleteVoglio regalarti questa parabola.
ReplyDeleteQuesta notte ho fatto un sogno,
ho sognato che camminavo sulla sabbia
accompagnato dal Signore,
e sullo schermo della notte erano proiettati
tutti i giorni della mia vita.
Ho guardato indietro e ho visto che
per ogni giorno della mia vita,
apparivano orme sulla sabbia:
una mia e una del Signore.
Così sono andato avanti, finché
tutti i miei giorni si esaurirono.
Allora mi fermai guardando indietro,
notando che in certi posti
c’era solo un’orma…
Questi posti coincidevano con i giorni
più difficili della mia vita;
i giorni di maggior angustia,
maggiore paura e maggior dolore…
Ho domandato allora:
It's very important to live the moment!

ReplyDeleteI was in the Navy aboard a destroyer. You reminded me of riding out a hurricane in the north Atlantic. There were ropes tied off on both sides of the passageways. They were crucial to keep you from being thrown all over the place. The ship would rock and bounce and up and down so much, if were holding onto the ropes you could literally walk on the walls. When the ship rode up a wave it would plaster you to the deck and when it when went over the top and fell, if you weren't holding onto the ropes you would hit the overhead with your head. The ropes in this case is our Lord Jesus. Keep the faith you have always before you. You are in great hands.
ReplyDeleteHugs and Blessings,
Jim
I like this, I need to remember this.

ReplyDeleteYes, it is easier said than done, but you can do it.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful. I definitely relate. Sometimes, it can be difficult to be present in the present. <3
ReplyDeleteI think God does rock us sometimes so we depend on him!
ReplyDeleteStay calm
ReplyDeleteBe still and know He is God.
ReplyDeleteI echo Nancy's comment - be still and know He is God.
