Truth

Honestly, I've tried to do posts that are happy because the events of the world are so sad. I'm tearing up just thinking about it. I'd like to talk more about it, but it seems like we can't agree to disagree. We've lost something. I need courage to speak the truth, no matter the cost to my pride, page views be darned. When did I become become beholden to what others think.   When did my search to be liked, become greater than speaking the truth.

  1. I thin there's a fine line between speaking the truth and angering people in these hyper-political days. Good luck fining the sweet spot!

  2. It is such a mine field, isn't it?
Where have those days of feeling free to speak our minds gone?
I find myself choosing words really carefully when I speak to anyone about sensitive subjects, so as not to cause offence. But that, unfortunately, means spontaneity is lost and we become almost robotic.
It is indeed a case of "political correctness" gone mad.
Thank you for a thought-provoking post...and for your visit to my blog.
It was great to hear from you.:))

  4. Regine, I want to encourage you to speak the truth and not worry about page views, of followers, etc.
You may lose followers but that's on them. When I started blogging I knew that I wanted it to honor the Lord. It didn't matter if people disagreed with me or not. My blog is moderated mainly to keep out spam but it is also to avoid arguments amongst my readers. I've seen this with one blog in particular and believe me, some of those ladies can act rather ugly.

  5. It seems you can't express your opinion these days without coming under attack. You are so right, whatever happened to 'agreeing to disagree.'

  6. Your words are wise, and words spoken with an open heart are true. You need to speak and write as you feel right -- not about what feels right or wrong to others. Follow your heart.

  7. Be you as it's all you can be. You have your opinions and that's okay. We should all be allowed to speak our minds. Go for it.

    Have a fabulous day. ☺

  8. We all have struggles in our lives, but we have to stay calm and thankful. Yes, your words should always be honest, but don't let the enemy take away your joy. The world is messy right now, so should we be negative and messy or have joy and peace in our hearts? And if something is on your mind, you can certainly talk about it. My blog friends always help me through hard days. : )

  9. Yes, so interesting. We must stay true to the Lord and our core values. All we can do is be sensitive and state our views in a kind way. We can listen to opposing views and receive them without anger. If our view angers others, it's on them. We are not responsible for how they react. One must continue to be kind and have patience. It is sad that I find even in my own church one is afraid to speak their political views, etc. Respect and kindness goes a long way.

  10. I feel the same way and I don't speak up, though I really, really want to. But we should all speak our minds. Follow your heart. Big hugs :)

  11. Thank you for kindly visiting my blog. : )

I know how you feel on the temptation of not speaking the truth because of followers etc. I have found that speaking the Truth from a kind heart is the way to blog for me, and if I do that, I feel like I am blameless before God. Sometimes I am very transparent. If it keeps people away that is okay because the right ones will come. And depending on the subject, it may just bring forth some extra prayer support or maybe I am an encouragement to readers at times too.

Blessings to you, and thanks again for taking the time to come over and visit. : ) I think that is great.

  13. I'm a newbie to your blog but my suggestion would be to write what you feel and to simply be true to yourself.

You are correct in that it is really hard to write the truth because of backlash from those who don't agree, I do steer away from politics and religion on my blog because of this.

End result is write what you feel and be who you are, I think I'll stick around if that's OK :)
