Today

Lord, It’s Regine again. I’m grouchy and irritable. My plan has not worked. I crave control. I need an attitude adjustment. I have no desire to decorate for Christmas. I haven’t read one Christmas novel. Struggling to find peace in Your Word. I read it, but I don’t feel it. I stopped shopping for things. The things only bring temporary relief, if you can call it that. I’m writing this because I can’t sugarcoat the truth. I can’t lie to you. I can’t lie to myself. So maybe if If I share, I won’t feel so bad. Love you all.

  2. Been there, done that . . . And you know what? It doesn't help to wallow in that frame of mind. However, acknowledging and sharing how you're feeling honestly helps immensely. Prayers, Regine!

  3. Our Pastor was saying the other day how it is good to know that God knows our hearts, because we can't put anything over him, I pray Lord Regine needs you at this moment to let her feel your presence with her, let her know that these feelings will pass, there is no time frame that is right to be in the mood to decorate or getting into the Christmas rush, but let her focus on you, who came down as a babe and showed us how to live the life you have given us the greatest gift of salvation, nothing else matters. May she feel the overwhelming love you have for her, and let that rush over her heart and mind. Amen!

  4. Dearest Regine,
You are not alone in not feeling the desire to decorate for Christmas or to shop.
Those are ONLY commercial commands to which people have been brainwashed into.
Talking to God and living through your Advent Season, leading to the true Christmas is a complete different story.
Just keep talking to God—it always helps!
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  5. I haven't decorated for Christmas. I may not. I loathe the commercialisation of the season. And haven't read a Christmas book in years. You are not alone.
    Hugs.

  9. Oh, I think a lot of us feel this way. Not just you. I have been having a terrible time at work. A lot of the time, I feel it's all my fault about all these little things like not finding that ripped page that has probably been there since 1995 in a book, but no one really knows. I guess that comes with Christmas. People in bad moods. Being the barrier of bad news like, "Sorry, you have overdues." Although, I try to get people to smile. I waived at least half of the overdues..and somehow, they pay. Usually, with a debit card that had a portal fee of three bucks..so they really didn't save that much...but just a little.

Giving is hard. It takes a lot out of us. But seeing the smiles of joy is a worthy cause and really if you receive anything but a smile ..it's a good feeling. I am doing my best not to go overboard on Christmas this year. Just finding the joy which has nothing to do with presents. I hope you find the joy too. Really, the little things mean a lot.

  10. I too am on a bit of downward slide this year. I'm not in good health at the moment, mental or physical. I'm quite angry about some things. I wasn't much of a Christmas person to begin with...This year I'm even less.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, you are not alone. Even when it feels like you are. Not even on days when you wish you were.

  13. I am sorry you are going through this. I know living with chronic pain and chronic health issues is exhausting and it can take a toll. I am was not in a good mood at work today because my hand from carpel tunnel hurt so much and the nerve pain in my face and eye from nerve damage was also bothering me. It can be hard to stay positive so like others have said you are not alone and many feel the same...
