Ebb and flow
Not always linear
I’ve not always
Addressed the albatross
The elephant
I’ve not shaken
Depression
And
Anxiety
Much like Disability
Show up
At unexpected times
With each blessing
Comes a bittersweet reality
That doesn’t release
And I have
To come back
To coping mechanisms
I abandon
Until I realize
I’m not cured
But a daily
Work in
The fruits
Of the spirit
Some of us
Just learn
To deal
Out of
Pure necessity
This is so powerful, Regine. And so true. Coping out of sheer necessity. You are so right about depression and anxiety popping up unexpectedly and it can get pretty dark. I'm glad you have some strategies. Your words resonate.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Regine. Big hug for a wonderful weekend. ♥
ReplyDeleteSo glad God is there with us to help us cope with all of life's vagaries.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Regine!

ReplyDeleteHugs - from another work in progress.
ReplyDeleteHugs and more! Wishing you love and happiness always. Oh, we do have our woes. They are there. Some days are better than others..I'm afraid. Some of us ignore it better than others.
ReplyDeleteHow true! The bad things in life show up unexpectedly and force us to learn how to deal and cope with them the best we can.
ReplyDeleteLearning to overcome is a struggle, but it makes you so much stronger!

...coping is a necessary part of life.
ReplyDeleteAn uphill battle, it seems...that you can conquer!!
ReplyDeleteDearest Regine,
ReplyDeleteIndeed, dealing with any chronic illness is rough and we best give it away to our Creator for handling it at his best. Fighting it, dragging yourself way down into depression is just negative energy wasted...
Knowing that in the end, we will be free and without any suffering is our rope to hang onto.
Hugs,
Mariette
You write so beautifully from the heart. I will be praying for you. Life is hard my mother taught me to pray harder and so I do.

Stay strong, stay safe.
ReplyDeleteI so agree, those depression times can come on so easily and out of the blue, I am sad to say my first instinct isn't to go to God but try to figure it out on my own, but only he can get me through

It is good to be able express your emotion and struggles in words. Most of us have to cope with our emotions and depression especially during this time of pandemic which doesn't seems to end.

All one can do is take each day as it comes.
ReplyDeleteIt can be a daily struggle. Important to take a day at a time sometimes?

Such a good poem as we always have something to deal with daily! God never leaves us nor forsakes us. Coming home from being with our son and family, a car come up fast on lane I was in. I slowed down and driver did slow down. Yeah, he/she wanted to be at the outlet mall NOW! God bless and continue your poems that are so good to read! Hugs and blessings, Becky

Life can bring so much good and yet so much bad that robs us of our peace and joy. Thank God we know Jesus, the Prince of Peace, who helps us in the midst of our troubles.
ReplyDeleteIt is always a daily exercise. The fruit of the Spirit may spoil if not cared for each day.
ReplyDeleteAnxiety and depression are so hard to deal with.

I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
ReplyDeleteliver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their
treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after
the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing
treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
