My refuge
From my
Own head
The red clay
Cakes into
Fingernails
Like the sweetest
Scented creams
Sweat is a most
Welcome sensation
And walking
In an impromptu
Rainstorm
Is the greatest gift
The land
Becomes my therapist
On this cloudy day
Soaking in the elements
In a really sublime way
Melts the worry away
I love the idea of the land becoming your therapist. Such wisdom in your words. Thank you. :D
ReplyDeleteA pretty poem. I liked it.
ReplyDeleteHugs from Spain :)
We've seen the sun a few times today, but no rain ;) It is great for our mental health to get outside, it is something I really need to work on!
ReplyDeleteHello there! Thank you for stopping by our blog! It’s so nice to find a new (to me) blog!
ReplyDeleteNature is always my therapist.
ReplyDelete...yesterday I worked in the rain in my garden and I was covered in mud. I was delightful.
ReplyDeleteHow meaningful and beautiful! Thank you friend. Aloha
ReplyDeleteDearest Regine,
ReplyDeleteWish I could do that... but post accident will not let me!
But at least I've gained back 1.7 pounds after having lost about 7 while Pieter was exiting life.
Hugs,
Mariette
I'm not a gardener but my husband would totally agree with this!
ReplyDeleteLovely
ReplyDeleteYou have such a wonderful way with words.
ReplyDeleteI love it and I have felt similar now and again. Always a treasure when that happens.
ReplyDeleteWhen we're stuck in the mud, let's make mud pies and trust that our Lord will turn them to chocolate.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Regine!
I love walking in the rain. No matter how old I get, it feels like it helps clear your mind and soothes the soul. I love your words and hope your new week is a blessed one.
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! :) I love your poems :)
ReplyDeleteYes to rainy days and the rejuvenation they bring! Fabulous words Regine!
ReplyDeleteOh, what great imagery. All the best to your poetry.
ReplyDeleteI am tired of all the rainy days. Sunshine is a blessing too
ReplyDeleteThere is no escape from my head...
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing better than getting outside after a long winter to perk up the senses!
ReplyDeleteUn buen poema!!.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
A beautiful day. 🌹
ReplyDeleteHere it is the same the sun has disappeared somewhere !
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you are gardening and I'm getting ready to do the same -- if the weather holds. Our rain was yesterday.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful imagery
ReplyDeleteNothing quite as therapeutic as getting 'outside', no matter the weather. That sounds as though your spring rain was warm
ReplyDeleteBlessings
